I know it has been a while since we got Jewel from you, but we just had to express how much we love her. She is absolutely unbelievable! At eight months old, she amazes us everyday. Not only is she a stunning dog, her temperament and intelligence bring complements from everyone we meet. Dan takes her walking in the woods almost twice a day with Flora and he hears at least one complement per walk, whether it is about how beautiful she is or how impressed they are at how well behaved and trained both are. She is so easy to train and learns very quickly. She even watches Flora and picks up things from her. She is always so calm and doesn’t seem to be afraid of anything! Jewel is also a huge love bug! She wants to love on everyone she meets and play with every dog she encounters. She never barks and when she does it is one low, loud bark to alert us.
Jewel is the third German Shepherd dog we have purchased from Olympia Kennels and each dog has been a pleasure to own. We know it is because you breed amazing dogs. Granted, Dan puts in a lot of time with them, but that only enhances a good animal. As a matter of fact, anytime a person asks about getting a German Shepherd, we tell them to go to you because they are guaranteed to get a dog they can love and be proud to own.
We simply cannot thank you enough!
Kristin and Dan
We just wanted to check in and say hello and tell you how well Otto is adjusting! The last two nights were the best so far - only whining for maybe 5 minutes after being in the crate. He still doesn't like being put in the crate but he is dealing with being in it.
We have been working on sit, stay, leave/take it, and waiting before going through doors. He enjoys being outside with his nose to the ground!
Otto has been great with other dogs and people - not being afraid or overly excited. He is very mellow indeed!
This morning his left ear started going up! Attached is a cute picture of him in the backyard!
Thanks for such a great pup. We'll be checking in again soon!
Hello Gina and Mike,
I wanted to get you guys an update on Jada now Samantha “Sam”. She is doing awesome. I’m so glad I came to Olympia Kennels to get my new best friend and family member. She has adapted to a busy home with children and other animals. Everyone loves her. My neighbors are jealous about her demeanor. She is a well-mannered shepherd that rarely gets in trouble. Almost scary good... She has not once had an accident in the house, she has 24hr access to the back yard and I have trained her to do her business in one spot of the yard. I try to work her every day when I get home for about 15 minutes and then let her run with the long leash to do come-when-called drills. I see pictures of Dallas on your Facebook page and see where Sam gets her looks. He is such a beautiful dog. She sees me off to work every day and knows exactly when I’m coming home to greet me at the garage door. She has learned to heel, sit, stay off leash as I take her to get the mail every day. I can’t say enough about what a great dog she is!
Keeper von Olympia
Hi Mike and Gina,
Our Shepherd from your kennel, Keeper, is nearly two and is one of the most amazing shepherds we have ever had. He is our fifth shepherd, my seventh. He spends his day watching the farm, going for runs or walks through the woods along with horses or me and just relaxing with us at the end of the day.
I think you do such a wonderful job, you are true to your heart and amazing guardians to the breed. I sure do remember you telling my husband, Mark and I that Keeper was a special dog. The day we brought him home he was bonded. People would comment on how focused he would be on me at such a young age and not leave my side. I'd bring him to Windrush Farm Therapeutic where I've volunteered for 15 years. (we use horses with physically and mentally disabled children, adults and have the Horses for Hero's with WWII vets to present).
You did an amazing job breeding him!!
Dunder von Olympia
Thought you might like to see a picture of Dunder. He's growing fast and is such a smart and handsome young boy. Mark is having a lot of fun with him and they are inseperable already. Thanks for such a great pup!
Echo von Olympia
Mike, Gina, and Anes,
Thank you so much for the great German Shepherd Dog that I got for Thanksgiving. I lost my best friend Max (West German working class Shepherd ) this year and discovered your kennel. You had just what I was looking for!! I didn't think I would be able to find someone so close to my home that bred such perfect dogs. It's great to know I have a local breeder that has such high respect for the West German Shepherd, and will only breed the best. You were very helpful, kind, and patient with us when we were picking out just the right puppy for our family. Thankfully, now I have a new best friend in Echo! He is all, and more than what I was looking for!!
Thanks again for all your help, and for Echo!!!!!!!!

Halo von Olympia
Hi Gina and Mike,
I wanted to drop you a note to say that not a day goes by that I don’t feel blessed to have Halo in our family. She is such an incredible dog, and is perfect for us.
She is great with our boys, and she is a marvelous companion to me. I am home alone quite a bit and we do not have neighbors. I used to keep my doors locked all day and be nervous. Not any more! I know Halo will alert me if anyone comes around and I am confident no one will try to enter our house unwelcome. This summer some man drove up our driveway and was met by Halo. He didn’t get out of his truck, just turned around and went away. Without Halo, I don’t know what the man would have done. He told me out his open window that he was looking for “the cell phone tower.” There is no cell phone tower anywhere around here, and also our driveway is marked by a mailbox.
I take her with me on my walks in remote areas and am never concerned.
She is such a smart girl. She listens beautifully (thanks to that week of board & train – that has stuck with her really well). I marvel at her athleticism and enjoy watching her use her nose to find the tennis ball when we play.
I was once playing hide and seek with Connor (the older one) and I told Halo, “Go find Connor.” She put her nose to the ground and went running off along this crazy path. She stopped for quite a bit in front of the tool shed – nose to the ground, tail waving madly. Finally we met up with Connor. I told him where Halo had led me in her quest to ”find Connor” and it turns out she followed just where he had been. He had also stopped in the tool shed and hid there for a while, so his scent was especially strong there. As you know, she hasn’t been trained to track. That was so neat.
I've attached a few pix.
Anyway, I love her beyond measure and am so grateful to have her in our family. Many thanks to you for breeding such great dogs and for making the training readily available.
Nora is doing FANTASTIC! Had her first puppy play session last night and she was a hit! Wonderful temperament and wow is she intelligent.
We are super excited to be getting our 3rd German Shepherd in a few days from Olympia Kennel!!! All of them have been gorgeous with wonderful personalities. You continue to out do yourselves, great job!!
I've always had Dobermans. When my I lost my last one, I figured it was time for a change. I called Mike in October to see what he had available for pups. He had three imported male Shepherd pups available and some litters on the way. When you buy a German bred dog chances are you’re going to get a quality dog. I bought ‘Ceasar’ one of the imports Mike recommended and he's been great. He had some training before I got him so crate and housebreaking was something I didn't have to worry about. Ceasar has a very stable temperament, nice thick coat of fur, a very nice mask, and the intelligence to grasp training rather quickly. When you buy a pup you can only hope he turns out to look like his father or mother. In my case, Ceasar is turning out just as I hoped. I receive comments on his appearance and behavior wherever I take him. Ceasar and I are still working with Mike and Ceasar is progressing nicely. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another from Mike and Gina.
I came up a couple of weeks ago with my wife and young daughter. I had a boxer that I brought to your facility back around 1994. At any rate a couple of weeks ago you and your staff were kind enough to take time out of your schedule to speak with me and my wife when we showed up out of the blue toward the end of a busy Saturday for you guys. Consequently, I fell in love with Bara (as did my daughter) and many of my wife's concerns/skepticism have since dissipated. I said I would send an e-mail so that we could keep in touch, sorry that I have been a little slow in that, but also I wanted to know if the male is still available from the Brandy/Bara litter that was born on the 20th? The web page says that there is a male and 2 females left but I know how quickly that can change. I really appreciate the time that you took to speak with us and if the male is still available I am absolutely interested especially since my wife is now fully on board. If, however, he is not available I definitely am interested in a pup from a Bara litter whenever that may be. As I said, this inquiry isn't simply to weigh my options, I have determined that an Olympia Kennels German Shepherd is who I want to bring into my family as I trust and admire you and your demonstrated commitment to the breed, your standards and your integrity.
Thanks again and all the best
He is WONDERFUL!! Such a fabulous pup, you sure were right about that! Best personality, best temperament and such a love! He has all the qualities and then some. We are so enjoying him and I think he really loves it here. He fits in as though he has always been a member of the family. First morning he helped me with the horses. Stays out of the stalls and waits patiently beside "Tage" (our other shepherd). He's already best friends with all the barn cats. He must feel at home after growing up where he did with you! He spent a lot of the day yesterday outside while I gardened and had a couple of good naps under a tree while I worked. Tage is a good role model. We haven't decided on a name yet but today is the last day to come to agreement! It's hard when you have five different ideas going. He also only took one night to settle. He boo-hoo'd the first night and started to the second night but decided to skip it after a while. Last night he said good-night and he slept straight through. He is a darling and we just love him!
It was so great meeting you, Anes and Michael. I wish we were a little closer. I would love to do the puppy kindergarten with you. I think I will at some point bring him for a class on a weekend when he is older at the very least. I will certainly keep you up to date and forward a photo soon. Can't thank you enough! -Diane
After losing our German Shepherds suddenly, we found our way to Olympia and a new family member. Our puppy, Haanzy, has personality plus great temperament, outstanding with children, incredibly loyal and smart. The breeding at Olympia is top notch!
